The pub walk

Lanlivery, Cornwall, Autumn 25

Hug a friend goodbye halfway between the pub and home just a few steps along the lane. How lucky we are, how I’ll miss it all. Eyes adjust to the night and the road sweeps down, 2 strips aside the mossy middle. That star doesnt get any closer though. There is my sweet home, window warm with lamplight. As the log jumps into life I feel that life is good.
