Precious Palace.

Jeanie&Me HQ, Puddle, Cornwall, November 2022

Imagine evergreen boughs laden with fresh snow and the cosy warmth of candlelit rooms. Crisp winter sunlight glistening on frost covered leaves. Firelight making rosy cheeks glow. These evocative images sprung to mind as I laid out the fabrics. Luxurious pieces of heavy velvet in gorgeous golden hues. Teal blue contrasting against cool cream. A strand of gold casually drifting across. All of these pieces of cloth had been generously donated to me by a neighbour. Tidying their own sewing room they passed on to me some special remnants. They were calling out to be made into beautiful things! I combined these gifted fabrics with some of the remaining silk velvet from the ‘Pomp&Pageantry’ collection. (Also rescued from a life in a box!) The result is a truly elegant new palette in gorgeous pale hues for winter.

Like the Pomp&Pageantry collection these bags are also quilted and embellished. As the light falls across the tiny cushions they shimmer even more. Beads and sequins add extra twinkle.

I have used my signature colour block patchwork to show off the many different fabrics. A thoughtful balance of tones and textures creates intricate stories amongst the quilting. Created within each square is a tiny canvas of its own. Take a look and see what I mean.

Poetry in patchwork. Adorni your dressing table or desk and complete your winter look with the gorgeous Fly or Flybaby bag.
